Afghanistan defeated Pakistan by five wickets in the first match of Under-19 World Cup in New Zealand on Saturday.
Afghans, who were to put to bowling by Pakistan who won the toss, bowled out their rivals on 188, a total they made in 47.4 overs.
Rohail Nazir scored 81, followed by Ali Zaryab Asif who made 30.
Afghanistan, the champions of 2017 Asia Cup, chased down the 189-run target by five wickets and with 15 balls with Darwish Rasooli finishing it style by hitting a six.
Rasooli was declared man of the match as he scored 76 off 78 balls not out.
Ikram Ali Khil and Rahmanullah Gurbaz contributed with 46 and 31 each respectively.
Earlier, Azmatullah Omarzai and Qais Ahmad picked up three wickets each for Afghanistan.
Afghanistan, who are placed in Group D along with Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Ireland, will face Sri Lanka in their next match of the tournament on Wednesday.
