Afghanistan's second vice president on Sunday heavily criticized the country's electoral commissions following October parliamentary election.
Sarwar Danish cited allegations of “fraud, violations and corruption” in parliamentary election adding they brought into question the credibility of the government and the nation.
The official criticized also delays in the announcement of complete results from the vote.
“Three months gone, but still parliamentary election results have not been released,” Danish said.
“Election commissions must understand that people are running out of patience,” Danish said as he accused the commissions of being weak and inefficient.
He vowed that the National Unity Government will take up comprehensive reforms “to avoid further destruction of people’s rights.”
The parliamentary election was held in October after years of delaydue to disagreement on how to reform the electoral system following a disputed presidential vote in 2014.
Authorities have announced preliminary results from 32 provinces after repeated delays, but those of Kabul are pending.
