Weapons of Iranian origin have been seized from the Taliban militant group in several instances by the Afghan forces, a senior Afghan army commander said.
Wali Mohammad Ahmadzai, commander of 215 Army Corps Maiwand, told 1TV that Iran supports Taliban insurgents in southern provinces of Helmand and Nirmoz.
He also accused Pakistan of backing insurgents in the border provinces.
According to the official, the Taliban violated ceasefire on orders from their leadership outside Afghanistan.
Commander of Fourth Division of 2015 Army Corps in Nimroz, also accused Iran of direct interference in the province.
Ashabuddin Roshan said that Iran supplies the Taliban with bomb making equipment in addition to other military equipment.
He said that the issue has been reported to the central government.
Tehran has previously rejected claims of backing the Taliban.
